Taking the Interlude

Mo Moore by Yinka Alaseyori - this laid in my spirit while I sat at home, watching a movie.

A while back, I was curled up at home watching a movie when the song dropped into my spirit. Not during worship, not during quiet time. Right there on my couch, mid-scene, sound bleeding in from somewhere between the screen and my memory.

I paused everything to listen. Just sat with it. It blessed me richly - the kind of blessing that doesn't ask permission, it just arrives and settles.

Right after, Aanu ni by BisiManuel came on. That one was needed too - back to back, like heaven knew I hadn't had enough. Two songs, two graces, in the space of minutes.

I think gratitude doesn't always wait for the right setting. It doesn't need a church pew or a quiet room to make its case. Sometimes it interrupts. Climbs over the noise of a movie you were three-quarters into, taps you on the shoulder, and says: pause, and just receive this.

So here's to taking that interlude. To stepping out of whatever's playing - literally or otherwise - and letting true gratitude have its moment.

With a heart full of gratitude, Adebimpe
